Members,

     First let me start by saying, I appreciate all the hard work you continue to do on the street every day, protecting the citizens of Richardson, as this validates the RFFA's effort to always strive for more.  Without you doing your job well, none of this is possible.  

     This local was founded on a group of 25 men in March of 1970 who wanted more for their fellow brothers and families and walked the streets of Richardson gathering signatures necessary to improve pay and benefits.  Since then, we've become an advocate for families in need and giving back to the community is at the core of our existence.  Whether delivering Thanksgiving dinners, repairing a fence for an elderly couple, building a wheelchair ramp for a disabled teenager, or just lending a hand to a fellow member, it's each of you making it happen. 

          I've enjoyed serving on the RFFA Executive Board for over 5 years now as your 1st Vice President and more recently as your President since November 2007.  I appreciate the opportunity and responsibility the membership has given me with the recent re-election to serve as President of this great union.  Together with your Executive Board, we'll strive to ensure each member is treated fair and consistently while always dedicating our time to improving our union now, and for those who follow.  Thank you for your time, dedication, and support of our union, IAFF Local 1954.
